How does Resist & Rise work?
Resist & Rise is your personal AI motivation coach. When you're facing temptation or need encouragement, simply tap the "Get Motivated" button. Our AI instantly generates a personalized voice message tailored to your specific goals and situation.
Why do I need a subscription?
Our AI uses advanced language models and text-to-speech technology (Google Gemini and Inworld AI) to create personalized messages. These services have real-time costs, and your subscription helps us provide unlimited access to instant motivation whenever you need it.
Can I use the app without internet?
No, Resist & Rise requires an internet connection to generate AI messages and play audio. We recommend having a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection for the best experience.
How do I change my habits or goals?
Currently, you can set your habits and goals during onboarding. To change them, you would need to delete your account (Settings → Delete Account) and go through onboarding again. We're working on adding an easier way to update your targets!
What is "Toxic Mode"?
Toxic Mode provides brutally honest, fear-based motivation that focuses on regret, wasted time, and consequences. It's psychologically intense and only available for "Resist" (breaking bad habits). Enable it in Settings if you respond well to tough love.
Why am I not receiving notifications?
Check these steps:
- Open iPhone Settings → Resist & Rise → Notifications
- Ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
- Check that Sounds and Badges are enabled
- Make sure Focus/Do Not Disturb is not blocking the app
💳 Subscription & Billing
How do I manage my subscription?
Your subscription is managed through your Apple ID:
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Select Resist & Rise
- Manage, change, or cancel your subscription
How do I cancel my subscription?
Follow the steps above and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find your Resist & Rise purchase
- Select Request a Refund
How do I restore my subscription on a new device?
- Install Resist & Rise on your new device
- Open the app
- On the subscription screen, tap Restore
- Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase
⚠️ Important: Make sure you're using the same Apple ID on both devices. Subscriptions cannot be transferred between different Apple IDs.
🔐 Account & Privacy
How do I delete my account?
- Open the app
- Tap Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll to the bottom
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion
⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. This will:
- Delete all your messages and history
- Remove your vision statement
- Delete your preferences and data
- You'll need to resubscribe if you return
Is my data private and secure?
Yes! We take your privacy seriously:
- ✅ All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- ✅ Your audio files are stored securely in Firebase Storage
- ✅ We use anonymous authentication (no email required)
- ✅ Your data is never shared with third parties
- ✅ Only you can access your messages and history

🔧 Troubleshooting
The app is stuck on the loading screen
- Force quit the app (swipe up from app switcher)
- Check your internet connection
- Reopen the app
- If the issue persists, restart your iPhone
AI messages are not generating
Possible causes:
- No internet: Check your Wi-Fi or cellular connection
- Server issue: Wait a few minutes and try again
- Rate limiting: You may have made too many requests. Wait 5-10 minutes
If the problem continues, contact support with the exact error message you see.
Audio is not playing
- Check your device volume (use volume buttons)
- Disable Silent Mode (check the switch on the side of your iPhone)
- Try playing audio from another app to verify your speaker works
- Restart the app
Purchase failed or stuck
- Make sure you're signed into your Apple ID (Settings → [Your Name])
- Check that your payment method is valid
- Try tapping Restore on the subscription screen
- Restart your iPhone
- Contact Apple Support if payment issues persist
App crashes or freezes
- Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store
- Restart your iPhone
- Clear storage space (Settings → General → iPhone Storage)
- Reinstall the app (your data is stored in the cloud)
